Unlock Faster, More Consistent Bacterial Growth with Anoxomat III
Growth you can trust — in less time
The Anoxomat III creates ideal anaerobic, microaerophilic, or capnophilic conditions in just minutes. Sensitive organisms thrive faster, with growth seen in 48 hours instead of 72 when compared to gas-generating sachets. With stable, repeatable environments maintained for up to 48 hours, you can depend on consistent and reliable results.
Designed to keep your lab productive
Built-in QC: automatically checks jar conditions for accuracy and reliability
Simple operation: set up jars and return to work—no extra handling required
Cost-efficient: bring more testing in-house and cut reliance on external services
High throughput: process up to four jars at once to maximize efficiency
Precision powered by the McIntosh & Fildes method
Anoxomat III uses the proven evacuation–replacement technique, removing oxygen and replacing it with precise gas mixtures. Combined with the Palladox catalyst, it achieves a strict anaerobic environment with zero residual oxygen and 10% CO₂ for optimal bacterial growth.
Superior to sachet-based systems
Where sachets create lag time and inconsistent conditions, Anoxomat III delivers controlled, reproducible results in minutes. Studies show larger colonies in more than half of tests compared to gaspak methods, ensuring better growth and more confidence in your outcomes.
Anaerobic Jar or Anoxomat?
Usually the question is not “jar or instrument” – the Anoxomat III works with anaerobic jars. The difference lies in how the atmosphere inside the jar is created.
Anaerobic jar with gas-generating sachets: after the jar is closed, the atmosphere builds up only gradually. This creates lag time, and the conditions vary from jar to jar.
Anaerobic jar with Anoxomat III: the instrument evacuates the jar and refills it with a defined gas mixture (evacuation–replacement after McIntosh & Fildes). Three gas-exchange cycles take less than three minutes, up to four jars are processed at once, and before incubation the instrument checks the catalyst, the gas supply and the tightness of the jar. With the Palladox catalyst, the result is a strictly anaerobic atmosphere with zero residual oxygen and 10 % CO₂ – and microaerophilic or capnophilic conditions when needed.
Compared with gas-generating sachets, sensitive organisms showed growth after 48 instead of 72 hours, and in more than half of the tests the colonies were larger.
