The EZcountTM WST-1 Cell Assay kit is designed for determination of cell viability, cell proliferation and cytotoxicity. This kit is based on the quantitative measurement of extracellular reduction of the water soluble tetrazolium dye WST-1 [2-(4-Iodophenyl)-3-4 -nitrophenyl)-5-(2,4-disulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium sodium salt] to a water-soluble coloured formazan product by metabolically active cells.
